The University of KwaZulu-Natal was founded on January 1, 2004, when the University of Durban-Westville and the University of Natal merged to form the University of KwaZulu-Natal, with the goal of assisting high-impact societal and stakeholder community involvement in South Africa and beyond.
Registration Closing Dates
- 30 June for MBCHB
- 30 September for all other programmes
- R240 (SA citizen)
- R300 (International student)
- R465 (Late application fee for SA citizens)
- R575 (Late application fee for international students)
Registration Process
Before registering you must make sure that:
- you have been fully admitted (a firm offer) to the desired degree
- have obtained financial clearance
- and have cleared and/or removed all system holds on your student account as per the University’s rules and policies.

How to Check or Track your University of Kwazulu-Natal UKZN Application Status after applying, you need to follow these steps;
- Go to UKZN status checker portal – https://caocheck.ukzn.ac.za/
- Select and Enter your ID Number/Passport number
- Click Sign In by clicking SUBMIT button
- Then click “Login” button to access your admission status.
Congratulations if your name is among the successful candidates in the admission lists of the University of Kwazulu-Natal UKZN.
