About Starke Ayres

The history of Starke Ayres can be traced back to 1896, when Charles Starke founded grain and agricultural products companies, which later merged into Starke Ayres (Pty) Ltd in 1920. Today, Starke Ayres is an expert in the supply of vegetable, flower seeds and grass seeds. Seeds for household and commercial use.

With more than 130 years of experience, the company prides itself on producing high-quality seeds with the best germination ability and purity. The company also provides quality after-sales service by helping farmers grow products that can be sold.

Starke Ayres also participates in retail by providing seeds, soluble fertilizers and chemicals to home gardeners and farmers. The second major business is retail, which supplies seeds, chemicals and soluble fertilizers to self-sufficient farmers and home gardeners.

The Starke Ayres Scholarship Program is for higher education students with a strong academic background. The scholarship will be awarded to the following research fields:

 BSc:

• Plant Science
• Plant Production
• Plant Improvement
• Soil Science
• Genetics

Starke Ayres The scholarship program will cover the following expenses: registration fee, tuition, prescribed books and accommodation (up to a maximum per year R37 500).

The scholarship can be renewed every year, depending on academic performance.

Starke Ayres Bursary South Africa 2023-2024  Eligibility requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum admission criteria before applying (please note that if you do not meet all the requirements, your application will not be considered):

• South African citizens
• Full enrollment
• Full-time study to obtain qualifications One of the above research fields
• Completed the first year of study (must apply for funding from the second year)
• Studied at a recognized South African university
