About Royal HaskoningDHV

Royal HaskoningDHV was originally called “SSI Environmental Consultants and Engineers” when it was established in 1922. The company was originally registered as Stewart Scott (Pty) Ltd and was listed under Stewart Scott International (SSI), but in 2006, the company changed its name to SSI. In 2012, due to the merger of DHV and Royal Haskoning, the company changed its name again.

Royal HaskoningDHV, based in the Netherlands, is an independent international engineering consulting firm active in many fields, including energy; Water; mining; buildings; infrastructure; maritime; aviation; industry; urban and rural development.

The company currently has offices in 30 countries and employs approximately 6,000 people. Scholarship will be awarded to students currently pursuing a bachelor’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering in one of the following fields:

  • Civil engineering
  • Electrical engineering
  • Mechanical engineering Scholarship will pay a certain amount of tuition fees, determined annually.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Current Matric students:
    • Achieved a minimum 5 symbol for Physical Science and Mathematics
    • Achieved a minimum overall average of 65%
    • Intend on studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study
    • Accepted to study at a recognized South African University
  • Current University students:
    • Completed Matric
    • Achieved a minimum of 65% overall aggregate
    • Studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study (1st/ 2nd/ 3rd year)
    • Studying at a recognized South African University
  • Preference will be given to students from designated groups
  • Strong academic potential
  • Proven financial need
  • Possess the following behavioural competencies: Excellence, Integrity, Brightness and Team spirit

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document (certified copy),
  • Grade 11 year end results (if a Matric student)
  • Matric certificate (if a university student)
  • Recent academic results from university/ if no exams were written, a progress report
  • Proof of registration at university for the relevant course
  • Proof of parents/ guardians income (payslips/ tax return statement/ financial statements/ affidavit if unemployed/ death certificate if deceased)
  • Motivational letter
