Potato Industry Development Trust Bursaries South Africa 2023-2024
Potatoes South Africa is committed to serving, promoting and protecting the interests of the South African potato industry.
The company’s board of directors is responsible for ensuring that the interests of the country and the potato producers and the entire potato industry are served.
The Potato Industry Development Fund (PIDT) was established in 2004 to help students obtain funding in the field of agricultural research. The goal of the trust fund is to ensure that qualified employees can continually enter the country’s potato industry. The Potato Industry Development Trust will award scholarships to students studying in the agricultural sector (undergraduate, diploma and postgraduate studies) through Potatoes South Africa. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in internship and work experience programs to improve your skills and secure employment opportunities. After Students complete their studies, they will be required to work in organizations, companies or institutions related to the potato industry for a period of time equivalent to their scholarships.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
Undergraduate/ Diploma students:
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Studying towards an Agriculture qualification (in 2nd year of study)
- Studying at a recognized South African tertiary institution
- Strong academic record
Postgraduate students:
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Studying towards an Agriculture qualification (Honours/ Masters/ PhD)
- Studying at a recognized South African tertiary institution
- Strong academic record
- *Preference will be given to students interested in pursuing research in a potato-related field

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):
Undergraduate students:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Qualification certificates (certified copies)
- Latest academic transcripts/ records
- Admission letter from tertiary institution
- Any additional documents that may be relevant to your application
Postgraduate students:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Qualification certificates (certified copies)
- Latest academic transcripts/ records
- Admission letter from tertiary institution
- Colour photograph (full length),
- Masters/ PhD students: progress report/ recommendation letter from their supervisor
- Any additional documents that may be relevant to your application
