About National Economic Education Trust (NEET)

NEET (National Economy Education Trust Fund) is a non-profit organization established in the early 1990s as an educational support system for disadvantaged students, focusing on students who excel in science and math.

The organization started with 30 million rand allocated by the government. After more than 20 years, almost R44 million were used for scholarships and financial support, and more than 5,000 South African students have been allocated. In addition to scholarships, NEET also provides ongoing support for your studies during your studies through the online student management portal, as well as student internships and post-graduation job placements. The

National Economic Education Trust Grant Program aims to help disadvantaged students, not only to subsidize their higher education studies, but also to provide ongoing support throughout the learning process to help students find a workplace or internship programs.

Scholarships will be awarded in the following research areas:

  • Accounting
  • Agricultural training and development
  • Science
  • Technology

Students receive not only financial support (for prescribed textbooks and office supplies), but also ongoing supervision and guidance to ensure students to reach their goal potential. The scholarship is mainly for students who wish to study in accounting, science, technology and closely related fields, because these fields do lack skills.

Please note that NEET requires students to pay a monthly fee of R120 to obtain student information in the student management portal.
