Maluti TVET College is a Technical Vocational Education and Training institution that was established on September 1st, 2002 under the Department of Higher Education and Training’s umbrella. The former Colleges of Education (Bonamelo, Sefikeng) and Technical Colleges (Itemoheleng, Bethlehem, Kwetlisong, and Lere la Tshepe) were merged into one Maluti Technical Vocational Education and Training College by a Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for the Free State Department of Education (FSDoE).
At the college, there are eight (8) camps to choose from.

Maluti FET College has built a society that has technological competencies for students to be both self-supportive and globally competitive. The mandate of the 50 public TVET Colleges is to steadily increase the number of students enrolled and trained in priority and critical skills areas putting FET Colleges at the centre of skills development challenge in South Africa.

The specific focus of public TVET Colleges is to address the skills shortages in South Africa; by offering relevant and responsive vocational and occupational programmes.

Requirements needed from students

Before applying to any Maluti TVET College campus to study or obtain a skilled trade, there are some requirements that must be met.

  • You should have a grade 9 certificate.
  • Applicants who are under the age of sixteen will not be considered
  • Note that, more advanced courses may need higher certificates: Courses like engineering and higher grade studies require a higher level of education.
  • As part of the application process, most TVET colleges ask you to take an admission exam. This allows the college to assess the numeracy and literacy abilities of each student.
  • To be considered, the applicant may have to go through an interview process.
  • ID and proof of residence: Kindly be sure to have these ready when applying to Maluti TVET College.
