About GWK Ben Scholtz
GWK is a leading company in the agribusiness sector and is actually one of the largest and most diverse agribusinesses in the country. The sole objective of the company is to improve life; this includes the lives of employees, the lives of farmers, and the lives of consumers.
GWK is divided into 3 sub-sectors:
- GWK Agri, which provides solutions to farmers by supporting farmers from beginning to end. GWK provides farmers with inputs, solutions and other services.
- GWK Farm Foods connects consumers with their food sources (farmers). GWK considers the needs of consumers and produces the highest quality products.
- GWK Trading focuses on creating the best domestic and international markets for the company’s products. GWK manages the trade of its farmers’ products and establishes a seamless trade channel for farmers to continue to produce.
The GWK Ben Scholtz Bursary Fund will be awarding bursaries to students who intend on studying towards a career options within GWK or scarce skills, such as:
- Agricultural Economists
- Agriculturists
- Buyers
- Grain Procurers
- Programmers
- Safex traders
The scholarship will include registration fees, tuition, and prescribed textbook fees.
Once students complete their qualifications, they will be eligible to fill openings within the GWK Group. If there are no vacancies, the scholarship will be turned into a loan and will be repaid.
GWK will provide feedback on the results of all successful grant applications by October 31st.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Good academic record
- Studying or intend on studying in one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Studying or intend on studying at a recognised tertiary institution in SA
