CPUT online Registration 2023-2024
CPUT registration process and guidelines for the new and continuing students thereby preparing them for the semester of the 2023/2024 academic year.
The registration is done via the ITS enabler, which is a self-help/online system. The system is accessible off-campus for convenience. You don’t have to stand in long queues and don’t have to come to campus. This guide will enable you to process your online registration successfully.
Follow the steps that are provided to make this process an easy and exciting process.
CPUT Registration Dates
The ability to register for the 2023 intake would not be possible before JANUARY 2023
First-Year Undergraduate intake students:
- Off-campus and online registration: Monday, 31 January 2023 until Friday, 18 February 2023
- Students who wrote their Final Grade 12 Exams in 2023 (or earlier), and have final acceptance, can register from as early as Monday, 31 January 2023 until Friday, 18 February 2023
- Applicants who wrote their Final Grade 12 Exams in 2023 and is pending final evaluation:
- Final evaluation (screening) of the 2023 NSC results will be conducted from Thursday, 27 January 2023 until Friday, 4 February 2023 (subject to change). Any NSC results obtained will be verified against the official results as published by the Department of Basic Education and Training.
- Acceptance will be confirmed via an automated SMS to your cell phone number provided during your application to the university.
- Also frequently track your acceptance status via the link http://www.cput.ac.za/study/track. This site shows the status immediately any changes are made, so gives the latest information.
- Please be reminded to register within 48 hours from receipt of the automated SMS. If not, your space may be allotted to the next deserving student.
Returning Students (Returning Undergraduate Studies including Advanced Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma programs)

- Online and off-campus academic registrations without any assistance: Monday, 10 January 2023 – Friday, 14 January 2023
- Online and off-campus academic registrations with online assistance: Monday, 17 January 2023 – Friday, 4 February 2023
Returning Students (Postgraduate Studies)
- All returning Postgraduate Students (Masters and Doctoral studies) and New students for Course-Based Master qualifications:
- Online and off-campus academic registrations without any assistance: Monday, 10 January 2023– Friday, 14 January 2023
- Online and off-campus academic registrations with online assistance: Monday, 17 January 2023 – Tuesday, 1 March 2023
- New students Full Research Studies (Masters and Doctoral studies)
- Online and off-campus academic registrations without any assistance: Monday, 10 January 2023 – Friday, 14 January 2023
- Online and off-campus academic registrations with online assistance: Monday, 17 January 2023 – Monday, 31 May 2023
Online Assistance
Online assistance capacity has been increased for all online registration processes. Students who wish to receive off-campus assistance can contact the Call Centre on 086 123 2788 / 021 959 6767 or visit the following link for detailed contact information https://www.cput.ac.za/enquiries.
Off-Campus Financial Clearance
Students with outstanding debt will not be able to proceed with the registration process unless the financial clearance indicator has been removed from their record regardless of any other clearances obtained. Students will only be able to proceed with registrations once financially cleared.

Off-Campus Payments Only
No on-campus payments are possible.
Payments can be made at any branch of ABSA bank or via Internet banking. For further details, please consult the 2023 registration booklet.
Off-Campus International Clearance Process
International registration clearance is compulsory to the following students (excluding South African citizens and/or Permanent Residency students):
- Refugee Permit holders
- Asylum Seeker permit holders
- Non-SA citizen Passport holders with a study visa (i.e. no SA ID number)
IMPORTANT: Please download the International Pre-registration checklist here, complete and submit it to the contact persons as indicated in the 2023 registration booklet prior to commencement of registrations.

Registration Guide
Specifications for your computer: Internet Explorer 7 or higher, with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 or higher. No other browsers are certified for online registrations at CPUT.

Academic Registrations
Registrations will be conducted off-campus only.
You can register online from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you have Internet access by using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Specifications for your computer: Internet Explorer 7 or higher, with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 or higher. No other browsers are certified for online registration at CPUT.

Residence Registrations
Students will not be able to conduct residence registrations unless academically registered. The residence registration-related information will be communicated to you by the Residence Division or consult the 2023 registration booklet.
