CJC Application Form 2023-2024
CJC Application Form 2023-2024
Central Johannesburg TVET College (CJC) was founded on September 11, 2003, at our Alexandra campus, by the late Minister, Prof. Kadar Asmal, who launched the landscape for the then Further Education and Training (FET) sector. The current Minister, Dr Blade Nzimande, altered the name of FET to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The College is one of South Africa’s 50 public TVET colleges, which are administered by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). In Gauteng, there are eight TVET colleges.
The College has eight campuses, i.e. Ellis Park, Parktown, Alexandra, Riverlea, Langlaagte, Crown Mines, Smit Street, and Troyville. The eight campuses are spread within a radius of approximately 10km from the Central Office in Parktown.
The College offers nationally accredited programmes, i.e. National Technical Education (NATED) and National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V). These programmes are quality assured by Umalusi, the Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training, to ensure a national standard.
In addition to the above programmes, the College also offers some skills programmes in collaboration with the relevant Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA). The programmes are accredited and quality assured by the relevant SETA Education and Training Quality Assurance (ETQA) unit.
